That made me chuckle. Been there, done that, but never had the nerve to ring for a pickup!
It was 16km home, in the middle of nowhere, getting dark and cold. Only the third time in about 8 years. I usually have one of those small adapters so that I can fill up at a gas station. But even that was missing in action today... and that would have been 4km walk and then home in dark with just the blinky lights.
